How a Shipcro transaction works.

Agree the deal — anywhere

Find a buyer or seller on Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, WhatsApp, or wherever you already trade. Shipcro is not the marketplace — it is the layer that makes the transaction safe.

Seller creates a Shipcro listing

The seller logs in, enters the product details and price, selects their nearest Pudo drop-off locker, and generates a secure listing link. The whole process takes under two minutes.

Buyer pays — funds held in escrow

The buyer opens the listing link and pays via Paystack. The money is not sent to the seller — it is held securely by Shipcro until the delivery is confirmed. No delivery, no release.

Seller ships via Pudo

Once payment is confirmed, the seller drops the parcel at their selected Pudo locker and scans the waybill from their phone. No printing, no queuing, no home-address sharing.

Buyer collects with a PIN

When the parcel arrives at the buyer's nearest Pudo locker, they receive a unique collection PIN via SMS. They collect at their own convenience — no strangers, no unsafe meetups.

Buyer confirms receipt

After collecting the parcel, the buyer confirms receipt inside the Shipcro listing. This is the signal that everything went as expected.

Seller receives payment

The moment the buyer confirms receipt, Shipcro releases the held funds and pays out the seller. The deal is done — safely, end to end.

Does Shipcro sell products?

No. Shipcro is not a marketplace. You agree the deal and find products on platforms you already use — like Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, or WhatsApp. Shipcro only handles the secure payment hold (escrow) and the locker-to-locker delivery once both parties are ready.

What happens if the parcel is never shipped?

Because the seller only drops off at their Pudo locker after payment is confirmed, and Shipcro holds the funds — not the seller — your money cannot be released until the parcel is actually collected and confirmed. If the seller never ships, the funds are not released.

What does Shipcro cost?

A protection fee of 5% (for items under R 2 000) or 3% (for items R 2 000 and above) is added to the product price at checkout. Delivery fees are calculated based on parcel size and weight and are shown transparently before you pay — there are no hidden charges.

Which courier does Shipcro use?

Shipcro uses Pudo lockers — a trusted locker-to-locker network operated by Bobgo — for all deliveries. Both the sender and recipient use their nearest Pudo locker, which means no one's home address is ever exchanged.

Do I need an account to buy?

You need a Shipcro account to complete a purchase so we can verify your identity and send you notifications. Creating an account is free and only takes a moment. Sellers also need an account to create listing links.
